Twelve of my stories, several of them brand new, all with a fantasy or science fictional basis. "Lost Girls," the story that closes the volume, won the 1998 Nebula award for best novelette of the year. I believe that was the first time a children's story won that coveted award. The story is under option for the movies. There are full notes about the stories at the back of the book, good for helping kids understand where stories come from.
